Neonate Embarks their Eid 2019 with Gaya Koleksi Raya Introduces The Most Exclusive Fabric, Known to Malaysians
In conjunction with Gaya Koleksi Raya 2019, Neonate Clothing celebrates the blessed month of Eid and marks a personal history with the most unique collaboration. Courageous and fresh, the Creative Director of Neonate, Karl Shafek Ibrahim, sets out to go bigger and better with their collaboration with Tenun Pahang Diraja Felda who is mostly recognised for having an unsurpassed quality of foreign woven fabrics.
Neonate takes pride in modernising the classic Raya outfits with their own personal touch to it and did exactly that this year with their collaboration with Tenun Pahang Diraja Felda as it became the first ever fusion of weaving with streetwear and the collaboration is name after BANGSAWAN.
BANGSAWAN accentuates Neonates’ modern feel as well as the traditional Songket Pahang motifs and patterns that symbolise cloves, geometry, diamonds and kerawang rumah. It also wanted to break all the skepticisms that fabrics or woven fabrics were only suitable to be styled and targeted by the Royal and noble groups.
It was a well-applaud show at GKR while most of the guests were amazed and instantly fall in love with the collection especially those with their renowned Neonate trademark of pairing their tops with jogger pants, Karl ensures their collection still strongly reflects the classic Baju Melayu, kurtas, and many others which truly appreciate every single member in the family, from the grandfather to father to sibling and kids. It is absolutely a collection for all ages.

“Our collaboration with Tenun Pahang Diraja Felda, as we all know, is a type of fabric that is very exclusive and elite; people hardly dare to wear or even buy the material. But we were brave enough to test and style the fabric, while ensuring it still has an essence of streetwear-feel to the Raya collection,”
“This is my first time releasing a larger scale of Raya collection for men. Previously, we had only brought out a few pieces but this time, we are excited to have launched a 24-piece collection exclusively with Gaya Koleksi Raya 2019. The collection, BANGSAWAN will be sold at a competitive yet affordable price. Prices for the custom songket are within RM1,500 while for the classic Baju Melayu tops, it starts from RM200 to RM400.
