Malaysia's Rising Male Models

We’re so used to the faces of International Male Models crowding advertisement billboards and TV Cologne commercials, but let me tell you: Our Malaysian Model Industry has some of the best and fresh faces to offer. Plus, on top of their extraordinary skill and eyecandy appeal, a lot of them are rising quickly into the year, making us see them at almost every fashion event and every fashion photo shoot -- leaving us thinking “I’ve seen this face before.”
So here’s a tribute to the Top 6 Rising Male Models in Malaysia. We scouted Instagram pages, campaign photoshoots, and magazines just to find some of the best right here.

Fresh faced and absolutely glowing, Jack Goh brings some of the strongest faces to our homegrown industry. He began about a year ago, beginning his career through the modelling competition Face of Malaysia 2018. With the sharp angles of his face and the boyish charm, he took home the champion position which kicked off his modelling journey. He’s got a heart for meeting people, and so modelling has allowed him to meet and work with lots of different, interesting, and talented people. With a face and attitude like that, it’s no wonder he’s one to look out for in the coming year. Check out his instagram @jackgohr for more of his photos!

If we’re all honest with ourselves, it’s undeniable that K-Pop is the new in thing. Jason Loo brings to the Malaysian Mamak table, what all of us didn’t know we need -- a strong Asian representative of power in the Fashion Industry. Jason has lately been making his way around, and shows strong features that give him that fresh boy-next-door feel. He’s almost like any one of us, only he knows how to angle his face for the camera, making him a chameleon in photoshoots, bouncing from masculinity to femininity in a heartbeat. Talk about diverse beauty standards! Take a look at his Instagram at @jae_loo

Relatively new in the industry, Prince has been modelling on and off for the past couple of months but that hasn’t kept him from rocking up some stunning images! He loves the camera and uses it as a tool to express himself. His recent modeling career has allowed him to meet tons of fun and creative people, opening his mind to learn more about surviving and flourishing in the fashion industry. A true lover of the industry, Prince can’t choose between the Runway or the Photoshoots, saying they are two different forms of art on two very opposite spectrums. On one end, walking the runway gives him “unreal self-fulfillment and satisfaction.” While on the other end, photo shoots he believes with the right execution there are so many stories to tell through the images. Amirul started off 2 years ago, where he joined a local pageant. Although he didn’t win, it brought in opportunities from others who scouted talent much like his, and soon he had photoshoots and gigs to attend. While studying a degree in Chemical Engineering, he still manages to balance the work life of a model (which can be hectic) and studying a degree (just as hectic), and we’re sure his photoshoots and runway walks are absolutely stunning despite it all. Through all of this, he won Man of the Year 2018. What a stunning multi-tasker! You can check out his Instagram at @amirulfahd
