I first started as a favour to a very close friend of mine. My first major campaign was local brand, Luxuria Cosmetics in 2014.Towards the end of the year, I was called in by Intrend to do a high fashion spread. From then onwards, things started to kick off slowly.
3. Have you always wanted to be a model?
I have always dreamed of being a runway model. However, knowing that I don’t excel under that criteria, it would be hard. But as I started doing many campaign shoots, I began to love what I was I was doing and knew that this was my calling after all. So to answer the question, yes!

4. Who is your favorite model/Who is your inspiration?

The OG, the incomparable, the runway lioness, the one and only Noami Campbell.#strutstherunway

6. What is your go-to skincare routine when prepping yourself for a shoot?

I believe taking care of your skin starts from within. Drinking lots of water, detoxifying, exercising and eating clean. But of course the daily and weekly rituals of a good skincare routine would be, cleansing, toning, moisturize and masking.

 7. What would be your advice to those who wants to be a model someday?

You were born in this world to stand out.The one weakness that you have could be your strongest asset.Be confident in your own skin, spread that positive vibe and personality. If you think you have it, go out there flaunt slay and kill it! But of course, don’t forget to create your  beautiful portfolio and  take it with you around the world.

Jane Teoh, 21, Penang
When did you start your modelling career?
I started at the age of 19, doing it part time while getting my degree in Accounting & Finance in Penang
Have you always wanted to be a model?
I would say I stumbled upon it. I’ve never really thought I would become a model, given the fact that I was quite gawky growing up. I started modelling with the intention of getting some extra pocket money, I walked in to a modelling agency in Penang and told them I want to be a model, and as they say, the rest is history, here I am today, your Miss Universe Malaysia 2018!
Who is your favorite model/Who is your inspiration when it comes to modelling?
I absolutely love Candice Swanepoel. She just seems effortlessly gorgeous. From the way she walks to the way she talks, she’s just so beautiful, but we do know that it’s not effortless, it’s years of hard work and experience to get to where she is now.

Who/What is your dream campaign/brand that you would love to model for?
The biggest runway show I did so far was for Chanel last year for its Cruise collection, and I love it so much, it’s by far the one of the runway shows that got me pumped up and really excited, besides Miss Universe. I love the vibes, it’s effortlessly classy and chic, I’m hoping that someday I can model for their campaign.
What is your go-to skincare routine when prepping yourself for a shoot?
My Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth activating Serum, it gives my skin the extra glow, applying makeup after that would make me look even better.
What would be your advice to those who wants to be a model someday?
If modelling is what you really want to pursue, pursue it with your heart and soul, It can be quite tough, but as long as you persist on it, you’ll definitely make it one day.

Full name, Age and Place of Birth
Joey Yong Choo Yee (Joey Yeung) , 25, Sabah, Malaysia
When did you start your modelling career?
My first foray into this industry was when I won a modelling contest (Face of Asia-Pacific) this year.
Have you always wanted to be a model?
Yes. I do have a modelling dream when I was at a very young age but I was too shy and my mother kept encouraging me to join some modelling contest as she thought it would help my confidence. However, I put my dreams on hold that time because of school... so I hope it won't be too late for me now.
Who is your favorite model/Who is your inspiration when it comes to modelling?
Definitely will be Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. It is common knowledge that models are tall but these two women proved that height is not an issue to become successful in this industry. Confidence, attitude and personal style are more important so as to stand out among others.

What would be your advice to those who wants to be a model someday?
Don't be concerned about changing who you are to impress an agency or a client but show your own personality with full confidence. Most importantly, you need to have endless effort, endurance and modesty in order to survive in this industry.

Who/What is your dream campaign/brand that you would love to model for?
I don't really have a dream one because I think all of them are incredibly good, it is hard to choose which to model for… I would say I would love to work with all of the campaigns/brands all around the world.
What is your go-to skincare routine when prepping yourself for a shoot?
I will apply mask, toner and hydrating serum before shoot as it can helps create a small shift in how you hold yourself or how you feel when you step out to go to work in the morning - while you feel you're at your best, you will actually exude an energy or confidence that's really powerful and it helps to perform better during the shoot.

When did you start your modelling career?
My first shoot ever was when I was 17! It was for Seventeen Magazine soon after I finished my SPM paper. I got Scouted by a fashion writer
Have you always wanted to be a model?
To be honest, not at all. I’ve always been quite boyish since my schooling days so I’ve never really imagined myself being a model. After I did my first shoot for seventeen magazine, I continued to do it for extra money to get through university, but after a while, I really enjoy modelling.
Who is your favorite model/Who is your inspiration when it comes to modelling?
Bella Hadid, Devon Aoki and Kelly Gale

Everytime I get asked this, my answer will always be GUESS! I’ve always wanted to be the face of a GUESS campaign and be a GUESS Girl. That’s the dream :)
What is your go-to skincare routine when prepping yourself for a shoot?
I always cleanse and moisturize my face before a shoot. I have really dry skin and I always make sure my skin is hydrated when I arrive on set.
What would be your advice to those who wants to be a model someday?
Build a portfolio, go for castings, be on time and most importantly have a great personality!

Nur Ike Diana Slamet, 26, Perlis Malaysia
When did you start your modelling career?
I started modeling at the age of 17, I did a few catwalks and a few commercial shoots. Then I stopped temporarily because I wanted to focus on my studies, after I graduated my Degree I jumped back on board and now I am a full time model.
Have you always wanted to be a model?
When I was younger, modeling didn't seem like a possible career for me so I didn’t really think that I would be one. When I first started out I didn't wear a hijab, and when I decided to wear the hijab I didn't think I would even be a model because back in the days, a modest model (hijabi model) didn't seem like it would go far. But now the industry (both, locally and internationally) have accepted us girls and I couldn't be happier to be in an industry to represent women who look like me.

Who is your favorite model/Who is your inspiration when it comes to modelling
Too many to write down, but to name a few: Doutzen, Halima, and the Hadid sisters.

Who/What is your dream campaign/brand that you would love to model for?
I would LOVE, DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN if I could be in Fenty Beauty's campaign or be one of their faces. I could just picture myself on an ad representing hijabi women all around the world.

What is your go-to skincare routine when prepping yourself for a shoot?
I would apply a hydrating sleeping mask the night before any shoot just to prep my skin for some heavy make up the day of the shoot.

What would be your advice to those who wants to be a model someday?
If you think you got what it takes then go for it. To me I don't do it for fame, I do it because i love it. Trust me, it's not as easy as it looks (not to sound dramatic - but its true). Some of the thing you have to consider is that you have to have good time management skills as well as be confident to pose in front of the camera or walk in a crown full of people. You learn as you go, and if you're willing to do that, then go for it! Having a good personality helps a well ;)
